In this illustrated lecture, Dr. Luttikhuizen will address the visual imagery of Pat Oliphant within the history of political cartoons in America. Special attention will be given to Oliphant’s use of satirical humor as a means of playful critique. As part of this investigation, we will also consider what Pat Oliphant thought of Gerald Ford and what the president thought of the cartoonist.
