This series contains speeches, statements, transcripts, correspondence, printed materials and reports concerning Roderick Hills' appearances to testify before the U.S. Congress. In addition to formal transcripts of Hills' statements some file units contain multiple draft copies with annotations as well as items Hills referenced while composing his statements. The majority of the testimony concerns economic and finance issues, the largest portions of which focus on corporate disclosure in the securities industry and the reform of federal economic monitoring and regulation programs. Much of the testimony dates from his service as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and concerns the work of that agency.

This series consists of a case file containing materials related to the application of Gerald R. Ford to become a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.). The case file includes his application and medical examination report, field investigation reports, and correspondence compiled by F.B.I. headquarters officials.
This case file also includes three memorandums from the Ford presidential period. Two of the memorandums describe storage and access to F.B.I. records on Gerald Ford, including this case file and his Vice Presidential nomination investigation. The other memorandum notes that the members of the press made inquiries into the reason why Gerald Ford was not offered a special agent position.

This series contains follow-up letters from the general public sent to First Lady Betty Ford after receiving her response to their public opinion mail regarding her "60 Minutes" interview on August 10, 1975. Most of the correspondents appear to have been initially critical of Mrs. Ford’s interview and her views on such topics as pre-marital sex and marijuana use. The nature of the letters range from positive messages that express appreciation for the response and clarification of her position to negative comments regarding morality, religion and parenting. They provide additional comments on the topic of pre-marital sex and how this interview will affect their votes in the 1975 presidential election. Some follow-up letters are written directly on Mrs. Ford’s acknowledgment letter.
