• Betty Ford's Dresses

A First Lady is known for her sense of style. Betty Ford’s training as a model and a fashion buyer gave her an advantage over others. She mixed color with elegance, fun with femininity, to create her own style. Three designers - Frankie Welch, Louis Esteves, and Albert Capraro - dominated her wardrobe and created the outfits that would grace the covers of magazines. Each brought their own unique looks and talents to the White House. This colorful menagerie within the museum’s artifact collections includes nearly 200 dresses and gowns worn by Mrs. Ford.
