The Gerald Ford Library is located at 1000 Beal Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109, on the University of Michigan's North Campus. It is open Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (closed on Federal holidays). The Library is located at the convergence of Beal Avenue, Fuller Road, and Glazier Way. Many out of town visitors arrive via US 23, taking exit 39, Geddes Road westbound and continuing onto Fuller Road.

Directions by Car
FROM EAST:
I-94 west to north US 23 (exit #180) to Exit #39 - Geddes Road; veer right onto the roundabout but proceed to your left (west). Proceed through two more roundabouts; then there will be a light at the intersection of Geddes Road and Huron Parkway. Geddes Road becomes Fuller Road at this intersection. Continue on Fuller Road. Proceed through the third light, which is Glazier Way (on your right) and the V.A. Medical Center (on your left) then immediately turn right onto Beal Avenue. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library is the first building on the right (1000 Beal Avenue).
FROM NORTH:
Heading SOUTH on US 23; Exit at Geddes Road – Exit #39 - Geddes Road; turn right onto Geddes Road roundabout. Proceed through one more roundabout; then there will be a light at the intersection of Geddes Road and Huron Parkway. Geddes Road becomes Fuller Road at this intersection. Continue on Fuller Road. Proceed through the third light, which is Glazier Way (on your right) and the V.A. Medical Center (on your left) then immediately turn right onto Beal Avenue. The Gerald R. FROM WEST:
I-94 east to M-14 east (toward Plymouth); then pick up US 23 south (follow the signs carefully) to Geddes Road exit #39; turn right onto Geddes Road roundabout. FROM WITHIN ANN ARBOR:
At the intersection of East Huron Street and State Street, go north on State Street to the end of the street. Turn right at Fuller Street, and continue to the end of that street. Turn left onto Fuller Road at the traffic signal. Continue straight on Fuller Road. Proceed through three lights. Just before the light at Glazier Way (on your left) and the V.A. Medical Center (on your right), turn left onto Beal Avenue. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library is the first building on the right (1000 Beal Avenue).
*NOTE: While we make every effort to maintain the accuracy of these directions, ongoing construction in the North Campus area often causes detours. If you are not familiar with the area, it may be helpful to call ahead to see which routes are open on any given day.
Getting to Ann Arbor
Air travelers use Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), about twenty-five miles east of Ann Arbor. Major car rental firms are conveniently located at the airport. There is no commuter van service service from the airport to Ann Arbor, but taxicabs are readily available and a ride to Ann Arbor will cost approximately $40 plus tip. The AirRide service provides a public transit option from DTW to Ann Arbor (one-way service $12 with reservation, $15 for walk-ons), telephone 734-707-7247. Amtrak (1-800-872-7245) and Greyhound Bus (1-800-231-2222) also serve Ann Arbor, although not from the airport.
Public Transportation in Ann Arbor
The University of Michigan provides frequent free bus service between the North and Central campuses, tel. 734-764-3428. The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority, tel. 734-996-0400, runs bus Route 3 close to the Library at $1.50 a ride. Ann Arbor has several taxicab companies.
Meals and Refreshments
Neither food services nor brown bag lunch facilities are available at the Library. A 7-minute walk away, however, the university's Pierpont Commons offers a wide range of cafeteria meals plus coffee bar and fast food options. The Commons is closed during semester breaks. There are no commercial restaurants within walking distance.
Accommodations
The University of Michigan offers a variety of on-campus accommodations throughout the year on both North Campus (location of the Ford Library) and Central Campus. Prices range from inexpensive to moderate, but availability does vary throughout the year.
